winter’s come and gone, a little bird told me so

I have always held in high esteem Punxsutawney Phil and Groundhog Day.  This could be because it was initially celebrated by Pennsylvania German (among many other cultures), and I am German.  And as this has been a difficult winter to endure as my first with snow since I was 11, I was disheartened to learn that Phil saw his shadow yesterday.  Another 6 weeks of winter.  But then I thought about it, and that means winter will end on the 16th of March, which seems pretty soon.  I’m excited!  And I’m holding you to it, Punk.
